DOUGLAS GREISE –PRINCIPAL & CO-FOUNDER
As co-founder of Veris Group, Douglas brings more than fourteen years of information technology consulting and management experience to the company. As Principal, he serves as program manager and oversees major client engagements for Veris Group. Douglas is an experienced executive responsible for the management and operation of the Information Assurance (IA) Team. He leads the business development efforts for the IA Team and is responsible for establishing strategic partnerships and outreach initiatives to the IA community.
Prior to co-founding Veris Group, Douglas was a Booz Allen Hamilton IA manager and was part of the IA team. At Booz Allen, Douglas served as program manager for various civilian and defense projects and managed a team of IA consultants. He led successful proposal efforts and helped the team win various multi-year and sole-source contract awards. He also played an integral role in the project management of various tasks for the Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Distribution Center and the Office of Secretary Defense, Military Health Systems.
In addition to his extensive IA experience, Douglas also has a strong management background. Douglas was a senior manager for Reliacom, LLC, a successful IT integration and consulting firm. He joined Reliacom in the early formation of the company and was heavily involved in its growth and organizational structure. He managed the Business Solution Division (BSD) for Reliacom. He directed the strategic planning, business development and financial management of the Division and was a member of the executive management team. Through his efforts, the company achieved Inc 500 ranking after only five years in business and developed a comprehensive service offering to conduct security consulting, system integration and general IT services to federal government and commercial clients.
Douglas holds several certifications, including the Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Product Specialist + Internet (MCPS+I), and was a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT). He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Politics with a focus in International Relations and Telecommunications from the University of Maryland.
DAVID SVEC – PRINCIPAL & CO-FOUNDER
As Principal and co-founder of Veris Group, David Svec is active in the management and operations of the company, along with delivery of services to various clients. Prior to forming Veris Group, David spent several years as a risk consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, where he led and managed client engagements and teams of security professionals who advised clients on information assurance, security, privacy, and business continuity issues. David also worked for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy's International Affairs and National Security Division, where he performed analysis of federal critical infrastructure protection and information assurance research and development programs and budgets.
In addition to his risk management and information assurance consulting experience, David has over 10 years of proven sales, marketing, and management experience. He co-managed the consulting group at Reliacom, LLC, a successful IT integration and consulting startup, and he was a sales manager in training for Accu-Tech Corporation, a national network products distributor. David also worked with the Ridgway Center for International Security and Global Risk Assessments, Inc., researching and analyzing global threats and assessing political and economic risks.
David holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certifications. He has earned an MBA from the Johns Hopkins University, and holds a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs/International Security from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies/Political Science from Towson University. David currently serves as a Commissioner on the City of Alexandria Commission on Employment.
