Veris Group, LLC  Completes Amazon Web Services 3PAO Assessment to Result in First FedRAMP Agency ATO

Vienna, VA, May 21, 2013 —Veris Group, LLC recently announced that it served as the Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO) for Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS GovCloud (U.S.) and all AWS U.S. Regions earned an agency level authority to operate from the US Department of Health and Human Services that meets the Federal Risk Authorization and Management Program (FedRAMP) requirements.

Veris Group, one of the nine initial 3PAO service providers under FedRAMP, worked with AWS as well as the sponsoring agency, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), to navigate the FedRAMP process. As the 3PAO, Veris Group performed detailed assessments of the Cloud Service Provider’s (CSP) extensive systems and provided thorough evaluation and documentation of the CSP’s infrastructure under specific FedRAMP guidelines.

FedRAMP “is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.” The program relies on a 3PAO such as Veris Group to assess a CSP’s cloud system and provide a security assessment package for review. In December of 2012, Veris Group’s assessment of CSP Autonomic Resources resulted in FedRAMP’s first Provisional ATO.

Veris Group, LLC Awarded USDA RMF Contract

Vienna, VA, April 23, 2013 — Veris Group, LLC has been selected as a prime contractor to provide Risk Management Framework (RMF) and other associated services to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) under a Blanket Purchase Agreement, the firm announced today. The contract includes RMF Information Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) services to ensure all security documentation is available to support the full RMF lifecycle of all USDA systems.

The USDA Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Cyber Policy & Oversight (CPO), estimates that the USDA has approximately 700 information systems. The Department will use the results of the security certification to reassess risks and continue to update and maintain the systems’ security plans. Veris Group will provide the RMF’s critical Steps 1 – 3, which ensure complete evaluation, categorization, and documentation of the systems, to the USDA under this contract.

Vienna, VA, April 10, 2013 —Veris Group, LLC has been awarded a contract with a major commercial telecommunications provider for security compliance and mobile security services. The contract includes Security Compliance and Mobile Security Architecture support services. Veris Group was selected for the contract for various reasons, including successful past performances with mobile security as well as the firm’s superior project management and security compliance subject matter expertise.

As part of the three phases, the provider will require Veris Group’s expertise to provide a thorough compliance analysis with various government and industry regulations. It will also require a product analysis in the form of a white paper based on an industry analysis of mobile security products. Finally, Veris Group will provide a compliance pre-audit.
